Windows Users

There are three types of files that may be downloaded .zip, .mwx and .mwz

Click the link that says (Download Here) next to the project you want to download. NOTE: Some browsers require the user to right click the link and select "save target as".

  • To use a .zip file you will need Winzip or a similar expansion program. If you do not have Winzip you can download a free version here.
  • To view a .mwx file you will need to install MicroWorlds EX. You can download a free trial here or purchase the software here.
  • To view a .mwz file you will need to install MicroWorlds Pro. You can purchase the software here (free trial only available for Macintosh).

Mac Users

There are three types of files that may be downloaded .zip, .mwx and .mwz

Click the link that says (Download Here) next to the project you want to download. Some browsers require the user to hold down the control button, click the link, and select "download linked file".

  • To use a .zip file you will need Zipit or a similar expansion program. If you do not have Zipit you can download a free version here.
  • To view a .mwx file you need to install MicroWorlds EX. You can download a free trial here or purchase the software here. (You do not need to convert an EX file using Filetype).
  • To view a .mwz file you will need to install MicroWorlds Pro. You can download a free trial here or you can purchase the full version here.
    1. Once you have a .mwz file you will need to convert it to work on a macintosh. Click here to download Filetype 1.0.1 to convert the file.
    2. You will need to expand the .sit file using Stuffit Expander . Click here to download a free trial.
    3. Open FileType 1.0.1 and under the mini-window that says "change file type to:" click on the button "edit list".
    4. A new window will pop up titled "Add Database Entry." Type the following into the given sections:

      Name: MicroWorlds Pro
      Creator: MWP1
      Type: PRJ4

      Then click OK.

    5. You should be back at the first window. Add the file you want to convert to the files tab by dropping the file in the window or browsing for it. Select the file then selct MicroWorlds Pro and click "change." Your file will be replaced with a working Macintosh file.
